Situada na aldeia de Lourosa, povoação também muito antiga, esta igreja terá sido erguida (ou reerguida) em 912 d. C., conforme lápide existente. É um Templo de forma basilical (em cruz), de transepto saliente e cabeceira tripartida, com três naves separadas por arcarias em arcos de ferradura, sendo a central mais comprida e antecedida na fachada principal de um nártex de compartimento único. O interesse por esta igreja data dos inícios do século XX, devido à descoberta, por diversos estudiosos, do seu estilo dito moçárabe (em que se conciliam elementos estruturais visigóticos cristãos com elementos da cultura árabe), fruto da presença árabe, que dos séculos VIII ao XI dominou esta zona do território português. A influência árabe destaca-se pelos arcos de ferradura e pelas suas janelas em ajimez (janelas geminadas) que são, aliás, as únicas da Alta Idade Média em Portugal. É também a única igreja deste estilo atualmente existente em Portugal.

Situated in the village of Lourosa, a very old settlement, this church was erected in 912 AC., according to an existing tombstone. The temple is basilical shaped (crossed), of prominent transept and a threefold head, with three separated naves and sequences of horseshoe arches, the central is the longest and preceded b a single compartment narthex. The current interest in this church, dates from the beginning of the XX century due to the discovery, by several researchers, of it’s mozarabic style (where structural elements of visigoth Christians combine with mixed elements of the Arabian culture.) due to the presence of arabs who from the VIII to XI centuries dominated this region which is today Portuguese territory. This Arab influence stands out for its horseshoe arches and its twin windows of the Middle Ages, which are unique in Portugal. It is also the only church that still prevails with this style in Portugal.
